Dr. Seuss Week (Read Across America)


                 Dr. Seuss Week in Pre K

Pre K loves reading books. They participated in Read Across America through the author Dr. Seuss. 

 Monday February 28, 2022

 We read the Cat in the Hat. For snack we made the cat in the hat, hat's  by stacking banana slices, and strawberries to work on patterns. During art we made The Cat in the hat. Circle time we worked on rhyming words. We wore stripes to class like the cat in the hat's hat.





Tuesday March 1, 2022 
The book we read was My Many Colored Days. We talked about our emotions. 
We made a colorful fruit salad. We enjoyed apples, strawberries, blueberries, and mangoes.

Wednesday March 2, 2022
We read the book I Can Read With My Eyes Shut. 
During circle time we shared our favorite book.  We like the book There Was An Old Lady Who Swallowed the ABC's.  Some of our other favorite's are  PJ's Masks. 
Our buddies from fourth grade came to read books to us. 




















Thursday March 3, 2022
Fox in Socks.
We listened for tongue twisters in the story. During snack time we made Three Cheese Trees with cheese cubes and crackers. We talked about how some of our Cheese Trees are long and some are short. During art we made a Fox in the Socks puppets. We enjoyed pretending to be fox in the story.





















Friday March 4, 2022
The last day of Dr. Seuss week we enjoyed the story The Lorax. For the Lorax we had a mustache like Lorax, also we dressed in the color orange. During small group we worked on stem project. We made Truffla Trees. We stacked cubes, then chose a shape to put on top and added a pom-pom. We had to balance the shape on top as well pom-pom.
