Today in PK3

Today we worked on the letter Bb. We read the book Letter b book. Then we came up with words that begin with the letter Bb. Then we traced the letter B.

                                   

                                





                                   Today we also enjoyed computer class. We worked on the alphabet game.

PK3 (Buddies)

Today PK 3 and PK4 meet their buddies from Ms. Mullins 4th grade class. We will have buddies to help us at mass, and we will work on crafts with them.

                                                 Mrs. Ramos is teaching us how to say the names of our body parts in spanish (eyes, ears, head, nose, and mouth)

The week in PK3

We were very busy this Week learning about the season of Fall (Autumn). This week we learned about the animals that prepare for winter in the fall. We made puppets of the animals that hibernate.

                                                                         We also worked on fall apple patterns.

We made Squirrels using dot painters. We learned about how squirrels prepare in the fall to get ready for winter. We read the story The Busy Little Squirrel.

                                       

                                                   

Pumpkin slime

Today in PK 3 we were busy learning all about pumpkins. We made pumpkin slime today. We learned all about how to follow a recipe. Today we used measuring cups and measuring spoons. To create slime we  mixed shaving cream, glue, food coloring, baking soda and contact solution.  We learned that mixing yellow and red together will create the color orange. After we mixed the ingredients we put the slime into cups that had  a jack-o-lantern face. Then we explored the texture of the slime. Then we talked about how the slime feels. We all agreed it was sticky. 

I like slime it is good.

I don't like slime.

I like pouring it.

It was sticky and fluffy with the shaving cream and the glue.

I like mixing.

I like orange.

Helping others

                    We are working on how we can help others

Today we colored fall pictures to send to the non-profit organization Color A Smile. The children colored the pictures using markers. We talked about how sometimes people who are not feeling well need some smiles. The organization sends them to various hospitals, to hang in the patients rooms.

The Five Senses

The Five Senses

This week, we learned about the five senses! We took a "sight" walk and had a "hearing" parade with our instruments. We touched different textures that we found in our surprise box. We guessed which smell was soap, cinnamon, anise, and Strawberry Krsipies. For "taste" day, we tried salty, sweet, sour, and spicy foods. Yum! Yuck!

We used the iPads to cook food for the Toca Boca monsters!

In September, we learned about parts of the body.

The students lay down on big pieces of paper and we traced around their whole body. Then they colored in their faces and clothing.
