All About Weather
Pre K was busy learning all about weather. We had so much fun the past two weeks. During circle time we graphed the weather. At the end of the two weeks we looked at our graph and counted how many sunny days, rainy days, and cloudy days. We counted 6 sunny days, 2 rainy days, and 2 cloudy days. We also made a weather journal and every day would write what the weather was.
Our discussions were about the sun, clouds, water cycle, and rainbows. We also discussed the four seasons and how the weather changes during each season. Some of the activities we worked on were painting sunny day pictures, and gluing cotton balls to make clouds in the sky. We used playdough to make suns. One of the books we enjoyed was It Looked Like Split Milk. After reading the book we put paint on a piece of paper and folded it and then opened it shared what shape our cloud looked like. Our favorite weather to learn about was learning about rainbows and the colors. We created a class rainbow, using tissue paper. We sorted the colors and then glued them in the order of the colors in a rainbow. Mrs. D'Arienzo made a rainbow in a glass, using different materials so we can see each color.
Here are a few pictures of our Weather Theme.
