This week in Pre K we were busy exploring our 5 Senses. We talked about our 5 senses. We sorted items for each of our 5 senses.

We described apples for each our 5 senses. Together we said that apples taste sweet. Then we said that apples smell like fall, and sweet. For the sense of hearing we said that when we eat it sounds crunchy. For the sense of sight we came up with that they are green, red, and yellow. They also have stems. The sense of touch we said they are smooth.

During ;the week we explored our 5 senses.

  • Taste:   We tasted the apples and made a graph of our favorite color apple. We enjoyed the yellow apple the best.
  • Touch:  We read the story Leaf Man by Lois Ehlert. Then  created our own Leaf man with leaves and acorns. We explored acorns and talked about how they feel. Acorns are bumpy and smooth.
  • Smell: We traced out name with glue and then sprinkled different flavors of Jello on it and smelled each flavor. The flavors that we used were cherry, lime, and orange, and blue raspberry.
  • Hearing: We listened to different sounds and guessed the sound. When we went outside we listened for different sounds. We heard birds.
  • Sight:   We explored acorns, apples, and leaves. While playing outside we looked for signs of the season of fall. We talked about leaves are starting to change colors and falling off the tree.

Here are some pictures of the different activities we busy exploring.

Thursday September 16, 2021
National Playdough Day
We had fun making playdough. We used out fine motor skills to mix and measure. We learned about measuring tools and how to measure items. We added grape Kool aid to make it smell. We had so much fun rolling the playdough after we made it .
