Pumpkin Exploration

This week in Pre K we had a lot of fun exploring pumpkins.  We read the book Spookly The Square Pumpkin. Then created a pumpkin using a different shapes.  We sang 5 Little Pumpkin's sitting on a gate. We then were scientist and described what our pumpkin looked like. We said it was round, orange, big, bumpy, and counted 22 lines on it.  Then we cut open the pumpkin and Mrs. D'Arienzo scooped out some pulp and seeds for us to explore with our hands. We described it as wet, cold, slimy, and sticky. We counted our seeds, then put all the seeds together and counted together. There were over 160 seeds in our pumpkin.

We also added eyes and a mouth to our pumpkin.
